Longtime Detroit badman Patrice Scott ensures Christmas comes early for all lovers of deep house. This EP on his own Sistrum is a real doozy that opens with the slow and purposeful kicks of 'The Uprise,' a real beatdown gem. 'Ghetto Love' is explores more of his usual realm - cavernous musical depths that encourage your mind to wander and get lost in amongst the wispy pads and curious motifs. Last of all, 'That Vibe' brings a very subtle sense of Motor City party, with soulful chords and upbeat kicks embellished with playful Rhodes work. Timeless stuff for sure.
