Monoman / Jose Zaragoza / Radiq / Riki Inocente - Various Artists 31
INFO :
Phil Week has been compiling and releasing samplers on Robsoul Limited since 2006 and this time it's the turn of Monoman, Jose Zaragoza, Radiq and Riki Inocente to throw their individual sounds over two sides of wax. Monoman takes to the stage first with "High Life"; funky, fun and riding of a catchy piano riff, it's the light hearted, feel-good pick of the bunch. Jose Zaragoza is up next, his "What You Say" packing an equal punch to Monoman, with choppy summer vocals and builds and breaks galore. Flipping over and Radiq's "King Is Back" samples some serious old school funk and jazz with crooning brass, spat vocals and an irresistible chord sequence. Finally, the title of Riki Inocente's track speaks for itself; "Soultrain" is most definitely all that, if not a bit more!
